Fast and loose best describe the Big Twin. In the early seventies there was a two year period between the shortboard revolution and the invention of the thruster; this was the twin fin's hey-day. Two fins mean when turning one acts as a pivot and the other fin drives around it. The result is hypersensitive control. The two fins generate speed by funnelling water through the centre of the tail like a jet engine.
The challenge will be hanging on. An experienced rider will push into hollower waves and more radical turns.
